THE WORKING ACTORS INTENSIVE
Join us for our 4-week Intensive where you'll be immersed in The Norris Studio's approach to craft and career and lay the groundwork to excel in our ongoing classes.
WEEK ONE: ACTING PROCESS
Week One is an overview of your Craft and Process. They need to be efficient, they need to be repeatable, and they need to work.
We use a current TV pilot to cover Stanislavsky's Greatest Hits and how to actually use them in your work without getting your in your head. We examine what adjustments needs to be made for the camera and finish with a road map for how to prepare new material.
WEEK THREE: THE ROLE & YOU
Who does the role become because you're playing them?
If we can't answer that question, then they'll hire someone who does. Or someone famous.
Today's marketplace is overcrowded and puts a premium on authenticity. We need to share and celebrate our story if we want to be helpful to the Industry.
This week teaches you what is character, what is yours, and how they work together to make your work more specific, authentic, and bookable.
WEEK TWO: ADVANCED SELF-TAPES
Self-Tapes are the currency of a modern actor.
Self-Tapes are what your agent sends to casting. They're how casting views your work. They can even be used as your screen test to determine whether or not you book a pilot.
Simply put, they are the most important element of your career.
We go beyond the basics to the real secrets & techniques of self-taping, to make sure your tapes compete with the best of the best
WEEK FOUR: WHERE CRAFT MEETS CAREER
Too often actors (and their coaches) will think of their craft and careers as separate entities, rather than two sides of the same coin that need to work in harmony to be successful.
This final class looks at the two holistically, making sure your career is serving your craft and vice vera, with you as the CEO confidently calling the shots.
